Why Disable Antivirus Software?

Disabling your antivirus software is a necessary step before downloading and installing our software due to the antivirus programs sometimes falsely interpreting the process as malicious. This false detection can prevent the software from installing correctly, impacting your ability to use our product. We ensure the safety and integrity of our downloads; thus, temporarily disabling your antivirus helps in a smooth setup process.

Disabling Windows Defender Antivirus

Windows Defender, the built-in antivirus on Windows, can often interfere with the installation of new programs. Follow these steps to temporarily disable it:

  1. Open Windows Security Settings:

    • Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
    • Navigate to Update & Security > Windows Security.
  2. Access Virus & Threat Protection:

    • Click on Virus & threat protection.
  3. Manage Settings:

    • Under the Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
  4. Turn Off Real-time Protection:

    • Toggle off Real-time protection. Note that Windows Defender will automatically turn itself back on after a short while.

Disabling Third-Party Antivirus Software

The process for disabling third-party antivirus software varies by the program. Below are general steps that apply to many antivirus tools:

  1. Open Your Antivirus Application:

    • Locate the antivirus icon on your taskbar or desktop and open the application.
  2. Find the Real-time Protection Settings:

    • Look for a section labeled Real-time Protection, Resident Shield, On-access Scanning, or similar.
  3. Disable Real-time Protection:

    • There should be an option to disable or pause real-time protection. Select this option. Some programs may ask for a duration for how long you wish to disable the protection.
