Running as Administrator

Running a program as an administrator is sometimes necessary to allow it access to protected system resources or perform tasks that require elevated privileges. This guide will show you how to run a process with administrative rights in Windows.

Why Run as Administrator?

Some applications require higher access levels to function correctly or perform certain operations within the Windows operating system. Running a program as an administrator grants these permissions.

How to Run a Process as Administrator

  1. Locate the Program: Find the program's shortcut on the desktop or its executable file (.exe) in File Explorer.

  2. Open the Context Menu:

    • Right-click on the program's icon or executable file to open the context menu.
  3. Run as Administrator:

    • Click on Run as administrator from the context menu. If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes to proceed.
